Does anyone have a link to a data sheet translated to English for the 6j49p tube?
I search for some time today and did a search here also.
Any tips on operating points in triode mode as a driver would be great.
Thanks
Ed

I have a trace for triode curves on my site here:

Ed,
If you have not already, don't buy anything other than the 6Ж49П-ДPY / 6J49P-DRU version, they tend to measure ok. The ДP/DR and the regular Д/D versions might give you 1 good one in 5 or even 10.
Take your pick on operating point, Jim's trace is of a good valve. With its huge µ it's a very versatile valve.

Thank you.
Trying it as a driver for pp2a3 amp.
Using a 6c45p right now.
It is an improved version of 6J9P
It was called in 1960'Th 6J9P-E
Then some tighter technology was used to make "very long living" 6J9P for military, and it was renamed to 6J49P-DR.

6J9P and 6J11P have terrible consistency. I have 30+ and have problems making decent pairs, the spread is so large. I only have eight of the 6Z49P and even those have a large spread in gm/µ but looks a bit better at least.

The DRU is the same as the DR except for gold pins and being pre-burned and carrying the "audiophile" price tag because of the gold pins 🙂
