Hi all
Could the CV358 valve be a good substitute for the Russian 6P9?
Should we make some kind of specific modification?
6P9
6П9, Tube 6П9; Rohre 6П9 ID18907, Vacuum Pentode
Octal (Int.Octal, IO) K8A, USA 1935
Vf 6.3 Volt / If 0.65 Ampere / Indirect / Parallel, ~ = (AC/DC) /
CV 358
CV 358, Tube CV358; Rohre CV 358 ID29229, Vacuum Pentode
Octal (Int.Octal, IO) K8A, USA 1935 Top contact with a cap
Vf 6.3 Volt / If 0.2 Ampere / Indirect / Parallel / series ~ = AC/DC /
Low hum and low microphony version of the EF37 and OM5.
Thank's a lot in advance

The 6P9/6AG7 is a Video amp with 0.65A heater and typical 30mA current.
The CV358/EF37 is an Audio amp with 0.2A heater and typical 3mA current.
At first glance, it is like sending a dog to do a horse's work. If you really need a tube as large as the 6P9, the CV358 is probably disappointing.

Is there any need to substitute this since original 6P9 is still easy to get and prices are low.

Thank's a lot for your very informative replies.
Does it have any advantage to change the Russian 6P9
by the 6AK7 Westinghouse tube?

6AK7, 6AG7 and 6П9 are fully equal. Just see the specifications of all these.

Thank's for your quick reply, artosalo.
Same specifications...but are sonically different or equal?.
Perhaps it could be my perception... JJ ecc83 could have identical specifications as Miniwatt ecc83, but not same sound, almost to me.
O.k I keep in mind my amp schema. (BEZ T3B -6 amplifier).
