Hi all,
As some may know I have been modifying quite drastically my DCX2496 (see link below) and I came to a point where I realized I badly needed a 6 channel volume control (I'm now using the DCX the "right way", i.e. through digital input)
As market does not offer many "audiophile" solutions I asked a french company if they could invest some time to study such a device, and they came back to me with this :
6 channel volume control
I thought it would be interesting for you DCX2496 owners to know that an alternative solution is now available.
Cheers
Thierry

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Since this unit is designed for the DCX why no XLR inputs?
It would be nice to have XLR inputs and both XLR and RCA outputs..

Yeah, analog or digital inputs would be nice. I think I may try the 8 channel mic pre-amp, ADA8000 as a gain control for my DEQ / DCX system to set relative levels of all 6 channels.

You may want to shoot me an email reminder in 2 - 4 months. It will be that long before I have time & money to try it.

What type opamps do they use?Thmartin said:Hi all,

Re: Re: 6 ch. vol. control for DCX2496
Hi,
They don'use opamps, they use 2SJ74, 2SK130 and 2SK30 FET transisors.
The assembling procedure is described here : Kit instructions
Volume control is available as a kit or as a ready to use unit. Check here : Special offer

... Maybe something to try out later as it look like it could be a nice upgrade from the Altronics kit.
That all looks very nice indeed! It's too bad my K5600 kit arrived two days ago by mail... Go figureThmartin said:

Hi,
This is interesting, and I also would be pleased to see some explanations in English, if this is possible.
For example, there appears to be 6 pairs of RCA connectors on the rear.
Assuming two of these (one pair) are for a stereo input, how does the remaining 5 pairs relate to six channels?
I wish I could read French better!😱
Edit: I've just realised what a silly query this is, as, of course there are 6 inputs and 6 outputs! But some more detail in English would be very helpful.
Regards,

Time for me to show my translator skills!

Hi kepa1,
Thanks a lot for this mini translation, you are very kind.
It is over 50 years since I left school, and I remembered some things like "en ordre de marche", which I believe literally means "ready to go"! 😀
Regards, et merci.

Très bien Bob, tu as quelques restes!
Pour approfondir tes connaissances en français, voici un peu de lecture concernant l'alimentation dediée au dcx2496 proposée par Selectronic (en ligne d'ici peu).

Merci kepa1,
Mais j'ai une petite problem.
"To have a more thorough understanding in French, here are a few words concerning the sale *dediee* (c'est dedicated?) to DCX2496 suggested by Selectronic (a small line here?)".
Je recherche mon dictionnaire, je pense!😱

Hello Bob,
Funny because you even write French with an English accent, very pleasing!
As for "dédiée", you are right. In fact, they designed a power supply that gives quality current to the AKM chips only, so you basically don't touch the stock PS... Soon to be avalaible on the site.
Cheers
