WTB 6.5" (165mm) midbass "Acoustic Research ARW 160 A-AL880 S"

Wanted to buy
Hi people,

1st the short story why I'm looking for this chassis: I wanted the "half"-way of my fully active 2.5-way floorstanders to deliver a little more punch (the upper bass from 80 - 500hz). First I used one 5 1/4" with 2,6mm linear travel. As I have to watch the costs, and those were at sale, I bought two more of the 5 1/4" midwoofers and did some violent things to my speakers ... . It looked not really bad, and sounded better as before, but the kickbass was still not as present as I wished it would be. Sure, the 5 1/4" chassis were mechanically just unable to move enough air. I had to move more air.
This was a problem, because I needed four 6,5" midwoofers of acceptable specs/ quality which would easily make 4 x 80€. Hmm, spending this muchz money would make me cry for weeks (more or less).
Lucky me then found four used (look & feel like new) 6.5" quality midwoofers with aluminum/ magnesium cone for 100€. Pretty exactly what I had in mind. I will have to make new cases in the near future, but for now I again took my saw and did things undiscriable violence to my loved speakers. I did the seats for the chassis with the router, and after the painting I had to scratch off the paint which I smeared in the speaker seats to make the chassis fit in again. As I was done with the first seat, I put the chassis in, to look how it fits in. The chassis fit in nicely, and I went on to the second seat. Ok, the story is long enough, I make it short: As I was cleaning the 2nd seat, I slid out of the routed seating and manged to put the tool I was using, a 300mm triangular file, right through the cone of the chassis, which still sat in it's place, where i put it to look for the right fit.
I'm an idiot.
I did some repairs, and the chassis still works, but I hope, someone can help me with an replacement.

best regards
Jochen
😉
