4P1L PSE compact amplifier

Input/driver tube is 6N2P-EV. Output tubes parallel 4P1L. Coupling caps are Russian FT-3 Teflon type. Bias voltage of 4P1L tubes provided by the small batteries. Output transformers are done by Automatic Electric Europe (AE Holland). Laminations 0.05mm thick and double c core. Amp has a switching power supply unit.

I've been using PSE 4P1L outputs for several years, and thought I was getting good sound. However, since switching to 300b outputs I can clearly hear the shortcomings of PSE 4P1L relative to the 300b. 300b needs a different circuit, but I think it's worth the switch. Maybe I could have implemented the 4P1Ls better, who knows!

Andy try 6e5p tube or PSE 6e5p (only with efficient speakers).

Yes! You helped push me in a new direction. I ditched the 300b outputs and am now using medium mu indirectly heated tubes in the output with DHT inputs. Shifting the DHT to the input has given me great sounds - the DHT seems to dominate the sound, which is what I want. Using 01A in the input now. Needs an output tube with a mu of at least 15 in my system, but that's quite achievable.
