I haven't been here in a while,I've been doing mechanical things and hanging out a little at Audiokarma.I have these Canton CT-80 4 ohm speakers (100-150 watts) that have got me a little perturbed.
On some amps/receivers (4 ohm capable) they play just fine,but on others,when I put volume to them,one of the woofers starts to pop like it's blown.
Apparently these speakers are very picky about the power they get..but I wonder if something else is going on..perhaps a bad resistor?
If a speaker starts to pop does this mean it's been weakened to some degree and will not last too long even if getting adequate power?
