4 lead capacitor

Hi,
I'll try and sort out a photo later on.
It does indicate that pin 2 should be negative (although pin 2 appeared ambiguous last time I looked), so I assume the others are either all positive, or just one, and the remaining two are support.
BTW meanman,
"1= positive(+)
5= negative(-)
2 and 3= nothing(for solid connection on the board)"
Did you mean 4=negative?

Thanks for all the replies. I don't think its anything like pooge suggested, but I could well be wrong.

Its a 4100uF 70V electrolytic, and its blue 🙂

Cheers,
Phil

Here's the picture of them used on Ebay, if it helps.
I'll take a more sensible picture tonight.

Okay,
I've worked it out.
The pins were labelled 1, 2, 3, and - (I was confused before because I must of had the cap at an angle so that I thought there were two 1s!).
As indicated on the can, 1 is positive and negative is self explanatory.
So, I can see a voltage when I charge across those two pins. The other two offer no voltage. So, I guess they are for support.
They wouldn't be shielding would they? I assume that would affect the actual capacitance, so unlikely.

I didn't get time to take a photo, but can do for reference.
Cheers,
Phil
