Have 2 Monitor Audio Climate 50 Loudspeakers With Bad Woofers.
Not in me to toss them. I'd love to put them to use!
Thought I could source woofers on Parts Express/ eBay / From Car Audio World but have had no success.
Hi-Fi / Perfect OEM match is not a major factor. These will become workhorses in the garage or for parties.
I've been known to setup a "real" sound system on the beach with some Energy Bookshelf Speakers, car amp, battery and solar panel.
Requirements:
- 4 Ohm
- 5.5" Overall Outside Diameter
- 4.5" Cutout Diameter (OEM drivers are mounted behind front baffle, SEE PHOTOS)
- 4 Mounting Screws (preference to tab type extending past outside diameter but I think I could work with screw holes captured by outside diameter)
Hopefuls:
*Preference on Rubber Surround and Non-paper Cone Material (moisture resistance)
*Preference on Keeping Price Per Woofer WAY under $50
Any advice would be awesome!

I don't know if you tried this, or if it's kept up to date, but . . .
Parts Express has a "woofer selection guide" in "resources". Resources - Woofer Selection Guide
Click on the "cutout size" column heading to sort. You should find several options with 4.5 inch cutouts. Might need to look at description of driver for other details like cone material, overall diameter, etc.
Hope this helps.

Ahh that is very helpful. I would have saved lots of time using that in the first place and I did find some beautiful woofers that would fit the cutout.
Unfortunately, I don't see anything that is 4 Ohm and in stock besides this bad boy:
Visaton FR13-4 5" Full-Range Speaker 4 Ohm
I want to avoid the paper cone and despite what I said about Hi-Fi, that speaker is more full range clock radio/ guitar amp than I want to go.
I looked more in car audio options and came across these bad boys:
https://www.focal.com/sites/www.foc...g/document/auditor_r130s2-technical_sheet.pdf
The 117mm cutout dimension is a little over 4.5" (114.3mm) but I'm banking on the healthy gap between the rubber surround and the speaker frame to give some wiggle room.
I might pull the trigger! Gosh this is exciting!
Someone is selling a new pair on eBay 2 for $70.
Thanks for the Parts Express link. I will definitely use that in the future.
