There are a LOT of good amp schematics in that power range. You might think about adapting the Eico HF87, a triode input/driver circuit. The Joe Curcio Stereo 70 mod is an excellent design that's more modern. And f you're really ambitious, you could try to clone a Marantz 9.

The Mullard 20W design with EL34's can be stretched to 30W is very quiet but with loads of nfb makes the sound dull.
