g'day all! first of all, i like to thank my mate in NZ for designing this horn for me! GO MIKEY!!! lol!!
this 35hz basshorn i am building is a prototype, never been built before, so it will be a first! i have the design, but the specs on it, i have lost due to formatting my PC!
i got the wood cut by a mates dad, which at the time, i didnt have the money for the sub.
now that i have a job, i went out and bought the suitiable sub for the horn which is the Pioneer TS-W305c i have these pics of the horn being built. im still missing 3 pieces for the horn, as my mate forgot them, so the finishing of the horn will have top be next weekend. ahwell i can hold on to my cravings of bass till then 😛
hope you enjoy the pics!!

lol 😛 it's an armada M700, it's my mothers, was using that to put pics on the net, that other pc on the desk is mine... 200mhz use ONLY for mp3's and to DL music and things
if an admin or mod reads this, can they put pics on their server? if i shrink the pics anymore, it's not worth putting them on... they are already 640x480.... thanx

you have to lower the quality, not just make the dimensions smaller..
I'd like to hear more about the driver used and the horn
Why did you use a car audio sub and only aim for 35hz extension?
Is that anechoic or is it in room?

Driver- Car audio 12"I'd like to hear more about the driver used and the horn

Dont be ridiculous Do you want a horn sub the volume of your bedroom? no - a 35hz cutoff is plenty low.

+ bear in mind that this is an OLD design, its the first prototype, and sanchez is supposed to build it to try it out and THEN report on it😀
The pics may not work if u click on them, but rather paste the URL
also you may easily use up your geocities data limit /hour posting on a forum like this.
Cheers!
I've seen many horns that went down to 30hz, and If I built one I know I'd want it to go at least that low.

thats what I have always thought... except the only music I listen to that has 30Hz in it is like bass testers and stuff... I'd rather have higher efficiency than lower frequency response. 😛
Your reasoning is, that because so many horns go to 30hz,youve got to match them simply cos they do it?-Yet another riduculous statement.I've seen many horns that went down to 30hz, and If I built one I know I'd want it to go at least that low.
In instead base my subwoofer compromises on measurement-involving FFT of all the music I have and seeing the bass content is almost always above 42hz,but 32hz is fun. Upon playing music at home, the only time i could tell my JBL ported 15" is playing rather than my 50hz 8" basshorn, was when 10% of my music[dnb]was missing its rolling thunder effects.
Compromising extension for box volume is an important one that has to be balanced.
now before i babble on about how damn loud this sub can go, can i ask a question. my panasonic stereo isnt capable of producing low bass, and im not happy with that. i cant run a full test as yet, but i know this basshorn does reach 35hz loud no problem as my mate has built same basshorn. what second hand or old amp would do the job? or adding syub amp help put out the lower freqs of this crappy stereo?
as soon as i get new amp, and sub amp to drive this beast, ill let you know the results!!!
from waht my stereo can produce with the bass, i am pretty impressed with the bass considerring it shakes my walls and windows when volume is up!! i wonder what it will be like with a better amp!!
i havnt put the bracing down the bottom as as, because i used that wood for the finishing of the horn since i couldnt wait for my mate to bring it on the weekend 😛
oh and i will put the pics up later, just not happy with the upload limit on this web, so ill build my web and put the pics on

does anyone know of any good free web hosting apart from geocities?? i went to a 100mb free web hosting site, but it was false advertising
Good that its working. A plate amp will sort out your problems,2nd hand of auction or something
🙂

I think it's more that you've seen many horns that they SAY go down to 30hz. A true 30hz horn is pretty big.
Mike... I have one question... whats the throat area... and whats the volume of the conpression chamber? (yes, thats only one question 😛 lol)
because I tried to model this horn, and NO WAY would class what I ended up with as a 35Hz horn.... 40Hz yes (it wasn't flat to that, but I know how you classify your horns) so, what are the other specs?? cos me thinks this horn is 40Hz....

I have no idea what it is because I didnt make it on the pc i have now. Make your own magic flat response horn that you can fit in your room then😉
Nope,I classify my horns at a higher frequency than the F3-where the horn cutoff is not the F3.(it wasn't flat to that, but I know how you classify your horns)
