I've read from other posters that 640x480 is the minimum acceptable resolution for watching big screen movies.

You really need to do a little research around the forum and view some finished projects. As a rule of thumb, the resolution must not be less than 640X480. Further more, no panel under 7" will give you that spectacular image we all strive for (with the exeption of the $2000+ .8" lcds, and the $400-$600 7" high resolution lcds). Will 336,960 work? Yes. Will you be happy with the projected image? Probably not. If you want to build a nice looking projector, buy a cheap 640X480 nview projection panel with a 10.4" in lcd screen. Strip it, and build your proector with that. It will not be too big, and the result will be better that using one of these small tft panels.

These specs are misleading....you need to divide the 1440 by 3. (they are counting the sub-pixels) Actual rez is only 480x234. Sorry!
