3.5 way DIY with drivers from 18k Dali Epicon - crossover help needed

Hi, new member here

I am currently building an Epicon 8 / Helicon 800 clone

I am having difficulties proceeding with my build. I am torn between conflicting crossover designing methods, cant seem to find a definitive set of formulas for component calculations and am tempted to imitate a crossover that belongs to a similar speaker.

The speaker is up and running temporarily with a helicon c200 crossover (2800/13000) 2.5way, sounds good but the bass performance is lacking.

The original speaker has a 3.5 way (550/3100/15000) crossover which isnt really something you pick up off the shelf.

What would you suggest as the next step, pick up measurement tools and order a bunch of crossover components for experimentation?

Here is some info on the build:

List of parts:
Hybrid tweeter module from an Epicon 6 which consists of:
- 29mm soft dome
- 10x 55mm ribbon tweeter
Woofers:
- 6.5" Epicon mid
- 2x 8" Helicon drivers
- Helicon dual binding post terminal
- Epicon terminal jumpers

The cabinet is very similar to the original aside from the 6.5 driver being below the tweeters

The cabinet is made from 19mm mdf. It is 1220mm tall w/o base
260mm wide and internal depth is 400mm
Front baffle for 8" drivers is 38mm thick, 57mm thick backbone (back curve/spine)

You really need to measure and simulate to get it right.

REW is free. You may be able to just use your computer sound card and a standard measurement mic from an AVR.

Google a LIMP jig to measure impedance.

You'll also need the FRD Blender and then something like XSim to simulate.

Hey, thanks for your reply jreave

Ive been listening to the speaker for some time with a 2nd order crossover (which was based on some guesswork) and it sounded pretty good to my ears. I have a dali center speaker and they sing pretty well in choir..

Now i am getting daytonaudio DATS and a calibrated mic.
I have sketched up various crossovers from Dali speakers, including two 3.5 way from previous models.

Will post photos as soon as i learn how to
