Well you have a choice is it ?
Shenzen SI Semiconductor
ON Semiconductor Shenzen China (Ltd )
and a very long list as well .
Shenzen is a Special Economic Zone -aka- China,s Silicon Valley.
Your eBay link is probably a front for a big company.
But if anybody knows different ?

Hi duncan2,
I already bought some from DIY Audio store and from "punkdogs". I just want to see for myself on how to determine originals from fakes. I will buy 10 pairs each and run the test I have seen from my search here in the forums (also the magnet test from post#7 here 2SK170 original or fake). Thanks for the response.

10 pairs of this unobtanium, extremly expensive J-fets for only $4.37???? a normal price would have been more like $200.
Here you get the real deal (but only BL grade) for around $20 pr pair.
FET Audio | Hi-End Audio Projects

Premium type JFETs that are obsolete and in high demand for 20c each? Nope, only those who believe in fairies would swallow a fantasy like that offer. It's well below the market price for small quantities even when they were still in production.
They may measure with some similar characteristics to original product but unfortunately, not were it really matters. If you are still tempted beyond your commonsense though, test them with a something that verifies their performance by comparison in with a genuine Toshiba product, not a copied one. Cheap component testers tell you little that's useful regarding JFETs but they can give you a couple of figures for direct comparison with the genuine product.

This guy has probably the only genuine ones you will see

punkydawgs on fleabay charges way too much IMO
Most international small scale distribution of Toshiba Semiconductor-Storage is from Singapore

808eengr,
I checked it out and it looks like it will cost around $59 for one pair each of 2SK170 and 2SJ74 including shipping delivered to my house.
I already bought this Toshiba 2SJ74 + 2SK170 LAB MATCHED QUAD 0.03mA & 4mV (7-8ma "B" "BL" range) | eBay a few days ago and cot about $53.00 in total. So just about the same. Not to mention the difference in the Idss measurements.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will consider it next time to order from this seller.

I stuck to the Linear Systems ones. They make a great effort to serve the DIY community, why not buy from them?
DIYaudio store and NACsemi sell them. NACsemi is very affordable, but not matched.

Measure the devices with a precision caliper, including leads.
Compare to datasheet direct from Toshiba website or digikey/mouser
The wider part of the leads is used in a test fixture. Check those for sure

Note that the listing linked in post #1 only claims these to be "original", nowhere does it say they are a Toshiba product.
It seems the OP is interested in getting these (almost certainly fake) parts
as a learning exercise for identifying fakes.
BTW, there's this thread on sourcing 2sk170/2sj74 and replacements:

I will not buy semiconductors from Ebay ever again. I Had a discussion with Salas regarding 2SK170's, that you might be interested in reading, starting at 2264 Mezmerize DCB1 Building Thread
I aslo purchased OP transistors from ebay for a power amp. They were unstable and destroyed a few upstream components.
