2008 Tundra Crewmax Speaker Replacement

I have a 2008 Tundra Crewmax that has 6 factory speakers (not JBL system). The factory installation had the front doors and rear doors with 2 ohm speakers, and the dash speakers with 4ohm. I believe the front door and dash speakers are in parallel (but I do not know for sure). I am still using the factory HU.

I did not realize this before I bought my replacement speakers. I installed 4 ohm speakers in all locations. Now the dash speakers seem too loud (or the door speakers are too quiet). Adjusting the fade on the radio adjusts the front and dash speakers the same amount, so even adjusting more to the rear of the vehicle, the front door speakers are too quiet to hear.
Here is what I installed per the Crutchfield person's recommendation:
Boston Acoustics SE35 3.5" Speakers - Dash
Boston Acoustics SE65RC 6.5" Speakers - Front
Sony XS-GT1327A 5-1/4" 2-way Speaker - Rear

Should I look at installing a 4 ohm resistor to each of the dash speakers to quiet them down? If the original door speakers were 2 ohm door, and 4 ohm in the dash (2 to 1 ratio), and my new speakers with the resistor are 4 ohm door, and 8 ohm (4 ohm resistor plus 4 ohm speaker) that would also be 2 to 1. Will that mess anything else up?

Any and all comments are appreciated.
Thanks,

I looked at the front dash speakers that were originally installed and see that they have a 3.6 micro farad capacitor installed, which I think is equivalent to 11,000 HZ for blocking.

Still looking for some recommendations or advice.

Looks like you have the same issue I had with my 2010 Prius, the dash 2 1/2 tweeters were wired parallel with the front door speakers. The sound from the receiver goes straight to the tweeters, then is sent to the front doors. (at least it is this way in the prius). What I did was, I replaced my 6x9's in the front doors with a set of of 6 1/2 Pioneer components, and replaced the dash tweeters with a set of 3 1/2, and a set of tweeters in the front pillars. But, I crossed the 3 1/2's over at 200hz and the tweeters are crossed at 2700hz, which helped out a lot.

In your case, you are running full range to your 3 1/2??? If you wire in a 4 ohm resistor in series with your 3 1/2, it should cut your sound by half. As Perry stated, you may check out Toyota Tundra Forum and see what they have to say. Hope this helps.
