I have now acquired another amplifier 20.00 Locally, First the capacitors are badly bubbled, never seen any this bad. the amplifier starts up the rockford symbol starts to light up then my ps just shuts off. I definitly have some work to do, the power/ground terminal needs to be replaced (can they be purchased?) The connections to the board are loose, dry soder. Also the capacitors. Not sure what else it the cause of the shut off. Ideas?
Are you sure that the caps are damaged? Does the plastic top go down if you push on it?
Are the terminals in good condition other than the solder connections?

no they are kind of just bubbled perry, and no the ground screw termal is not working i tried to push up to caught the screw and get back on track but its completely stripped out. all the capacitors look and feel like that. They look like they should be replaced to me? Which one would i need, Im unsure of the size. And there is the shutting off, may be the power souce, not sure. When i got it, i was told it was working other then the ground terminal being broken.
If the plastic can be pushed flat, the caps are likely OK. It's VERY common for the cap to bulge.
When replacing the terminals, using chipquik makes it MUCH easier. Even with CQ, you may have to use hot air to help heat the terminals.

besides the terminals on this amp the problem is the shutting off, i think all the lights come on even the rockford symbol chas a problem its omes on breifly then either the ammp or the power supply shuts off. generally if the ps has a problem there is not a delay like this, its like the amp starts up and then fails?
