Hey Everyone,
not sure the title makes much sense but here's my possible situation:
I'm building a 3 way box with 1x 12" bass driver and 1x 8" coax driver. The coax driver already has a dedicated crossover so was wondering if i could build a separate crossover for the sub and then wire them up to the same speakon connector that goes to the amp?
obviously I could build a 3 way crossover from scratch but would rather not.
my other solution is to use a separate channel for the sub but will mean using another amp which i'd like to try and avoid.
Any suggestions would be amazing.
thanks,
Sal

You ought to specify filter (driver as well) values and schematic of the coax driver and you will probably receive meaningful replies in form of a new schematic for the whole thing. High pass filter for the coax needed?
ok so it's a beyma 8cx300Fe coax driver with a beyma FD2CX crossover. I'll be using my DBX driverack for the high pass on the coax. I'll use the DBX for the low pass on the sub as well
so i'm guessing from your response that it's not possible to connect 2 crossovers to 1 amp channel?

You should be able to cross between the 12" and the 8". This way all except the lowest bass will go to the coax. You could power them from one amp with one connector at the box.
I assume the 12" is more sensitive than the 8"?
