Hi
I am looking for a good and easy diy +/-15V Power Supply to power the AD8599 in my cd player, so it has it own power supply, regulator
I was thinking this would be a nice transformer

Be careful in choosing the secondary AC voltage for the transformer, since the two boards
require different voltages.
Hi Ray,
I am bit nervous workign with power.
Ive done enough maybe with the upgrades - diodes, vishay cmf55 resistor, NJM7805 regulator slimicII, KW and spare Jantzen superior z caps i had spare, and my spare Eichmann RCAs
mkps are in the decouping and output
Sounds great as is, would the extra trouble be worth it

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Maybe you should hold off until you have more confidence. There's no guarantee that
replacing the existing power supply will be an improvement. Maybe, maybe not.
There are better circuits than the 317 regulators. They're just a step up from the
usual fixed output three terminal types.

Thanks Ray,
I was trying to copy friends, but he did say the gain wasnt worth all the expensive mods ( i was doing to use less expensive parts) , and I was best looking at a Rotel RCD991 or 971
LM317? type regulators

If you're really into experimenting, the cost isn't too much. Be sure to test the new power supply
separately, before connecting it to your equipment. Much depends on execution.
