12at7 and 12au7

Depends on what you're gonna use 'em for. Both types are more RF types than audio. The 12AT7 does work pretty good as an LTP, and 'AU7s make good cathode followers. As a straight audio amp, probably best to get the distortion down with an active plate load. (Even better would be to replace it with something like the 6FQ7.)

As for brands, who knows? Everyone has an opinion on that, and they vary widely, depending on usage.

I am looking for 12AT7 and 12AU7
Any one can suggest what brand is good?
Good in term of warm, value and detail
tks

warm is easy - bias it poorly and ensure you get lots of harmonics.

Value is a values-loaded statement. I'm poor, and so value is cheap and working. You may be different.

Detail - I'll presume you mean musical - is a function of a few more components than just the tube.

Cool that they are for a preamp. Voltage amplification? or a cathode follower? Or both? Straight common cathode, or a SRPP/Mu follower/whatever after you fancy? Operating points?

I'm surprised SY didn't get in first, but the tube is a single component and of itself is incapable of being categorised by any of your three criteria without a lot more information.

This all in the spirit of seeking a best possible answer for you, not as a troll. Truly.
