All Hitachi Lateral FET amplifier for DIY described by Paul Kemble

If you would follow my previous projects, you would know that I almost never use trimpots. The one in the photo is only for setup. Once it is finally installed in the final heatsink case, the trimpot will be replaced with fixed resistors, as I always do. The PCB is designed to take both. Patrick

Very Simple, Almost Universal, Speaker Protection Circuit

That depends on whether +/-50V, or 50V single rail. Also depends on single ended (And referenced) output, or BTL. The comments in post #23 refers to the protection circuit of course. Not to the amplifier. Patrick

    Hello

Hi everyone, I'm Patrick from Belgium. I like to repair stuff, when I can. At this moment, my hands are on an old (guitar) amplifier, which used to work but doesn't anymore. I'm looking for expert advice on some specific questions I have for this repair, and looking at the forum history I'm...

Group Buy - Very Simple Almost Universal Speaker Protection

...value for Rrs. 10M will give the longest reset time while still sufficient to compensate for any leakage current of OP1. But you can also use anything between 1M and 10M. You will still get reasonable reset time, sufficient for you to switch off the amplifier for fault investigation. Patrick

    The Kaneda No.168 Preamp

No sir. Not in my Spice model, AND also not in my actual build. The actual build use 2x 91R in parallel, i.e. 45.5R. All the distortion plots are also real measurements, not simulations. Patrick

...be done, need to plan upfront. Or add a DC Servo as in the Tubecad link : https://www.tubecad.com/2004/blog0023.htm BSP129 is not holly. You can also try DN2540, etc. But I prefer LU1014 cascoded a la Zen V9, biased at 200~300mA. Just need to simulate first to find the optimum bias. Patrick

Adaptor PCB 2SK2145GR as 2SK170BL Substitute

We actually have danish supply companies, and on Google, they would be the first to show. Next would be Digikey, Mouser, Franell, RS-Online and TME, if they carry the products searched for. YMMV....... but I got your point/tease :ROFLMAO:

2SK117 vs 2SK209 Same but Different?

...amongst the many posts I have made on the topic. Of course the SMD part has a much lower dissipation rating. So you won't be able to use the BL grade with say 15V rails with good reliability margins. It all depends on the application. Patrick
