I would normally have added this to https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/new-brimar-valves-made-in-the-uk-coming-soon.325046/ but that thread is not open to new replies.
The Great British Valve Project has produced real valves, namely new production units of the R-type from 1916. See

It is exciting that new tubes are being made, hopefully they will be able to expand their offerings once they get good at making them consistently. I assume this particular tube was chosen because of its relative simplicity. It’s nice that they have been able to reproduce technology from the 1920s, hopefully the can move through the decades and give us something from the 30s through 50s.
Makes me think of TECH TUBE - I have four of their 12ax7s that were based on cathode ray tube technology. They were made in the MULLARD Blackburn works. Looked like nothing I had ever seen before. The very opposite of this. They were trying something very different.
Sadly, it did not work out. The tubes had problems with microphonics - they came with a rubber sleeve that covered the tube - which could not help the longevity. Many reported glass failure - one of mine has a crack in the glass. I have not used them in years.

I still wonder why using original equipment matters. Using modern used lab equipment off ebay would almost certainly yield better results and should be quite a bit cheaper too.
Ediswan R-Type valve it's a very very interesting tube with tungsten filament, thanks to share Marcel.
Yes it should fit that socket. The only difference between B4 and B5 is the extra pin in the middle.
Looks like orders are currently limited to just 1 pre release sample for £100. Hope they manage to make a success of it.

Will be good if someone with more skills than I (not difficult🤣🤣🤣) could design a pre-line/amp with these tubes?
Unfortunately ordered a couple of 801A NOS last week waiting to receive next week.

Should not be too difficult to make something nice. You could start a new thread dedicated to this, describing your preamp needs.design a pre-line/amp with these tubes?
Fortunately, I'll be happy to take them 🙂Unfortunately ordered a couple of 801A NOS last week waiting to receive next week.
Would be nice if they made other more commonly used thoriated tungsten valves, such as the 01A, 10Y, etc.
Yes! Go all in with 801A!Would be nice if they made other more commonly used thoriated tungsten valves, such as the 01A, 10Y, etc.

Would be perfect to get genuine brand new tubes without ultra expensive prices and avoiding the pain of pay for NOS and receiving 50% or less of life....

I’m happy to try whatever they are making but they don’t seem ready yet to make very much so here’s hoping that progress will continue.
