Just to introduce myself, have been modifying and playing with electronics, mainly audio, for years, in the early days often fixing them after I'd broken them ! Work in IT, networking, virtualisation etc and electronics is a hobby, for fun. Have a number of classic (old, British) transistor amplifiers all modified in some form or another.
Latest is Lehmann Audio BCL which needs fixing after somebody tried upgrading it and just went too far.
Looking to build more and fix less, I'd like to try building a tube amp.

Thanks, I've been a browser here for years, not registered but now I want to devote a lot more time to my own audio so registered. I've had a couple of Musical Fidelity amps I had to fix, the self burning A1 and the even worse MA50, still have an MA50 converted to stereo to repair which might be beyond help.
Great. Maybe best to take specific questions over to the appropriate amplifier subforum and open a thread or threads there. Also, just a little tip if I may: it may tend to be easier to elicit more in the way of useful assistance if you make it easy for readers to get caught up on whatever documentation (e.g. schematics, service manual, etc.), pics, prior repair history if known, available test equipment, etc., type of info there is you can provide.
