I want substantial horns for a home cinema speaker project, from JBL 2384 size as a minimum up to Klipsch K402 size. I won't buy from the US while they slap us with trade war tariffs, so do any Aussies either have, or know of any for sale already in the country? Or can recommend a local equivalent? Or even have a horn to loan that I can pull a mould from? (I expect it's too much to hope to find a ready-made mould)
If not then I may do a mould from scratch perhaps modeled in ATH software.
I would probably try a foam male mould, simple wet layup carbon fibre/Kevlar (well, not actually Kevlar,😉 probably a tariff free Chinese equivalent)
Would there be any interest in such a project? It's practically a patriotic duty🇦🇺😃

Can be bought as the HF75 with driver etc. Also as seen in the pdf.
90 horiz. 50 vertical total (15/35 deg).
Or source straight from China, they will sell as low as 1 piece.

What trade war tariffs?won't buy from the US while they slap us with trade war tariffs,
Us has imposed import duty on the countries that does the same to they're products, most is in disfavor of themselves (US).
That is not a trade war, it leveling the playing field equal. Because of the decisions Austalia has made on import duties in the first place.
Same with my country, but we were slapped with much less duties, then Norway imposes itself..
So is our own politicians fault..
Not the place for politics. So excuse my rant🙃
Though it is theoretically possible to CNC the horn using the 3D scan / CAD models, size is often a problem. Always ask for the maximum capabilities of the facility. However, even with just the plan and elevation data the determined builder could print onto paper, paste it to the plywood and start cutting away without waiting for anyone / anything.
The 2384 CAD data is already available from JBL website, for example,
https://jblpro.com/en-asia/site_elements/4722-cad-drawings
https://jblpro.com/en-asia/site_elements/4732-cad-drawings
The plan / elevation data in the older dxf format is also available from the larger cinema models that use this horn.

Some of the older bi-radial horns are also available in both 2D and 3D. Notable parts are 2352 (1.5"), 2360 (2") & 2392 (3")

See https://community.klipsch.com/topic/200599-nearly-full-range-multiple-entry-horns-mehs/I want substantial horns for a home cinema speaker project, from JBL 2384 size as a minimum up to Klipsch K402 size.
I'm not sure that any of the SEOS horns are available from Poland, but it's worth a try.
More discussion from that thread: https://community.klipsch.com/topic...ultiple-entry-horns-mehs/#findComment-2629835
I do think you should consider using dual-flare straight-sided horns, like those that result from Bill Waslo's Synergy Calc spreadsheet.
Here is a design that will mostly fit inside a Cornwall cabinet (and oriented sideways to listen to them): https://community.klipsch.com/topic...tiple-entry-horn/page/53/#findComment-2611634
Yes, this is actually very observant. I learned about Australian import duties (and labor protectionism) when I worked for what is now WesternGeco (Western Geophysical then) 45 years ago, and yet again when I was asking questions about a possible full-range MEH kit--from folks here. When import duties affect what we do as DIYers, then it's no longer really a political issue, but a DIYer issue based on where you live. You can argue the reasons, but the reality is the same: it kills off innovation and consumer buying power....That is not a trade war, it's leveling the playing field [to be] equal...

Thanks for the links.Which drivers....
I have JBL 2532 and 2447s, acquired way back, when they were almost the only serious options (except TAD $$$)
So I will probably use those, unless they measure worse than I expect.
If it comes to that then there are now plenty of options from Europe, but I will look into them only if the need arises.
Best wishes
