Checking turntable voltages

I read online it was not good practise to run a turntable without the platter. I recapped a JVC QL-A7 turntable and my next step is to check voltages. To check voltages I need to turn the turntable is upside down to get to the circuit board and in some cases turn on the motor. Will this be an issue?

Most direct drive motors will not run without the platter.

What you do is attach leads to the test points, bring them out to a terminal strip or something. Put the table together again and measure to your heart's content.

I built a jig to access the electronics from below while TT running .

I also elevated a TY on 4 DrPepper soda cans, not a good idea when one can tumbled and?tje 20kg Tt hit a can so it burst open and exploded the contents into the electronics. I flushed the electronics with Gordon’s Gin and let it dry. The TT Thorens TD125Mk2 worked just fine after this incident. No I use rolls of toilet paper ..
