Sony TA-2000F power cord

I am going to replace the power cord in my preamp. It has a two prong plug and I am not clear on the polarity.

This is a picture from the schematic of the main power cord. Should the hot wire be connected to the prong with the red arrow?

That would make either (all) mains sockets' pins float at mains potential when the unit is powered off.

Kudos to the designer, though (ha!)... but then again, it's just a pre-amp... no high voltage thinking required (double ha!).

Move the CP1 snubber close to the switch, e.g. solder it onto the switch contacts, and insert the fuse in its place. Then you can orient the mains plug as you have shown in the photo.
