That would make either (all) mains sockets' pins float at mains potential when the unit is powered off.
Kudos to the designer, though (ha!)... but then again, it's just a pre-amp... no high voltage thinking required (double ha!).
Move the CP1 snubber close to the switch, e.g. solder it onto the switch contacts, and insert the fuse in its place. Then you can orient the mains plug as you have shown in the photo.
