Been having a great time with Daphile at home, decided to set up a second machine and use my original one at work.
Have been using wired Ethernet connection as I initially had problems with wi-fi.
I took my original Daphile machine into work - it was well tested on my home network, but when I plugged it into my work router it failed to connect. The router setup web console doesn’t appear to see the Daphile machine either.
Tested the Ethernet cable/connection on another windows machine, all fine.
Tried booting from the install USB, it still got stuck at “waiting for network connection”.
Any ideas? Wondering if it might be an incorrect setting on my router…

I do not know your company network, but many corporate networks do not allow non-company devices, i.e. the switches accept only known mac addresses.
It doesn't have any onboard wifi. When I tried previously to use a USB wifi adapter I couldn't get Daphile to play nice with it.
Well, your daphile could have IP address fixed, or assigned by DHCP. I guess it's the screen as in https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...le-music-server-player-os.240040/post-5664155
Is there a physical ethernet connection to the Daphile because the router shows no ethernet connections?
Hard to tell as I can’t access that screen. Would assume the installation on the hard drive is set to a fixed IP, whereas booting from the USB would expect it to allocate it dynamically? Neither work!Well, your daphile could have IP address fixed, or assigned by DHCP. I guess it's the screen as in https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...le-music-server-player-os.240040/post-5664155
Perhaps have a look at the connector on the board and confirm there are no cold solder joints or other damage. Can you test at home and see if the behavior is the same?
As stated in the OP the machine worked absolutely fine at home.Perhaps have a look at the connector on the board and confirm there are no cold solder joints or other damage. Can you test at home and see if the behavior is the same?
Yes, but he took it to the office and now it no longer works. It would be useful to determine whether it still works at home. (Disregard if it has already been retested at home and still works.)
Thanks, but I think it's highly unlikely that the issue is damage to ethernet socket. Nothing I can think of has happened to the machine that would cause it. Certainly I could take it home and try it again (and maybe I will) but I'm fairly confident I would be wasting my time.Yes, but he took it to the office and now it no longer works. Since I am clearly wasting my time as well as yours I will now bow out. I wish you the best of luck.
Apologies, no offence intended, I think it's an unlikely explanation but you're right, it's possible - I will re-test at home, but in the meantime I wonder if there are any other possibilities worth exploring?
