Originating from a user of the German HiFi-Forum. Very solid database imo. Includes HiFi and PA. You can also submit your own entries.

I recently thought about adding this. Any special wishes to how this should work? Now if you could filter by driver...
For an end user the "best" solution would likely be drop-down menus for manufacturer and then model number.
I would imagine a free text filter for a drive unit database field (likely 3 fields to account for upto 3-way speakers) would be simpler to implement.

He needs a whole lot more submissions, many, many designs MIA.

It is in no way complete and currently has a bias towards german language designs in the hifi section, because those are the ones I know. Also, not everything should be in there - only somewhat recent and well designed plans that have somewhat of an appeal to others. I use a mix of automation and manual work to get the data. Do you know of any sites that I should look at?He needs a whole lot more submissions, many,m many designs MIA.
What's the use case though? I imagine its that someone either has a chassis in the basement and wants to figure out what to do with it, or is interested in a specific chassis or combination thereof but doesn't own them yet. In both of those cases you don't need discoverability of existing options, which a dropdown would provide (but a text search field wouldn't).For an end user the "best" solution would likely be drop-down menus for manufacturer and then model number.
I was more thinking someone wanted to try a specific drive unit, say a B&C DE250 and wanted to see what designs had been used.
Basically in the same way you can filter by cabinet type.
The site appears to be a catalogue of speaker designs so the more metadata there is for each design the easier for users to search what they want.

Yes I agree. Its a bit of a challenge to fit it all on screen and keep it usable, but I'll see what can be done. The site appears to be a catalogue of speaker designs so the more metadata there is for each design the easier for users to search what they want.

As far as searching by driver...I have seen several posts where someone has a driver or drivers. I is often not clear how they ended up with some driver that they don't know what to do with. But they come to a forum and either ask for existing designs or the more typical case is that they start asking about designing a speaker with the driver(s) that they happen to have. People give them the typical advice, "designing a speaker from scratch is very hard, maybe you should build an existing design". But then people don't know all of the existing designs and can't really offer a good suggestion.
I just added the "driver" column. Making room was difficult, especially in the PA section.
Data is mostly still missing but will be amended.
I'd like to add designs that are popular in the US or internationally, can anyone help with this? You don't have to submit the data yourself, posting URLs would already help. Are there any prominent developers?
