That will vary depending on brand, tolerance, etc. but roughly 10% of maximum rating (-20dB).

Depends on the manufacturer, so best to get their actual data sheet for the part you have.
On the other hand, looking at the ALPS RK27 series data sheet, it's about 18% of the total resistance for an "A" taper.

Thanks, gents . . . I've got it now. My A pots are indeed around 10%. And my balance pot is linear as it should be.
