Hi! I finally start with installation of phase plugs in fostex fe206en. Cuting go smoothley, but inside i have big problem. They glue small piece of felt on the magnet, with some hard white glue. I must remove it to get nice plane for phase plug?
Any idea how? I try to scrape it,but is very hard and very strong bond to magnet. Im out of idea how to remove it.
Only idea is to make hole in phase plug for glue. Glue is 2mm high cca.
Any idea how to do that with minimum risk for speaker?

Thank you Dave!
I try to remove it but it was imposible.
I end up milling phaze plugs so glue have pocket to fit in. I put 5 screws in plug so magnet field can hold it in place. Its ok,its stable and not moving.
I also put some muting rubber on chasis to mute it. It works nice. I change also iner wiring,i put neotech silverplated UPOCC wire,i have it for speaker cables and is excelent,so i put it also inside.
Sound is beautifull now, finaly there is no ear cutting high freq when i lisen loudly brass jazz or opera.
Harshnes is definitly gone,so im more than happy. Here are few pic.

The FE206 ncan get better yet.
Jeff,
I’d guess you have only heard FF85wKeN.
There are a number of mods i do to these before i EnABL them.
1/ 2 coats of ZIG 2-way glue at the interface of the surround and the cone on the back of the cone.
2/ a thin as possible coat of ModPodge/Puzzlekoat (slightly thinned). Do not do the dustcap. With this step one can add some colour (food colouring) to the modPodge.
3/ The dustcap, while the source of the extended...
The ZIG and the ModPodge mods apply to the FExx6 as well. To coats of ZIG on the backside of the wizzer at the edge. Also GM’s whizzer massage and the 98¢ mod.
I’d also smooth out the shape of the back, the mods you have done should help. Felt instead of foam inside the basket legs would probably works a bit better. A “pick" of thick felt on the magnet will help kill internal reflections.
Also, superTweeter should be as close to the FE206 as you can get them.

That's one of the smoothest little drivers of it's type on the planet. Never heard them sound harsh, and that's driven buy a lot of different amps.😕
