For comparative purposes but with just as much musical enjoyment, compare this earlier recording in 1988. The recording above was done in 1992. Both are excellent but very different. This 1988 one is more conventionally balanced bass weight wise.... but both are at the same club. Might be interesting to hear what others prefer of the two?

Yes, sorry Miller-8. I did originally show the name of the CD, but then considered, that if someone bought it and didn't like the sound, (which is quite different to the norm) I would feel guilty and embarrassed for recommending it. There is no way I can remove the entire post. However, the one above is a good CD but with conventional balanced recording in a live club environment. I like it but has no "special qualities" sound-wise although still very good in my opinion

How about recommending it with reservations
Thanks for the suggestion. Well I show it here now and with some of the original description. * I show it with a cautionary note as the bass richness may well be too much for some ears and some systems* I still think it sounds very good:
Living proof that CD's can sound more "analogue" than vinyl. Give this modern jazz CD a spin. Recorded Live at Ronnie Scotts Club in London UK. The bass richness and overall smoothness are remarkable, and the music is top notch modern jazz.... easily left on repeat for several playthroughs. BTW: All the Jazz at Ronnie Scotts Club sound excellent. This one for around 3 quid, most will love it I reckon: PS: it's obviously balanced to be played at high level and if you have a high-power system, it will really provide reality :
