I have had that exact combination of BA2018, Gaz's Helios PS and the Alps pot. It was a good sounding preamp. 🙂 Yes, the PSU is easy to convert. A couple jumpers. Attached is the schematic.

I could also point out that you don’t need to desolder any wire to remove the PSU. The connections are made with terminal blocks and spades.

Signal wiring is all soldered.
