Hi All,
I am looking to replace the balance potentiometer for the rotel ra-930 ax. Trying to work out which replacement will be most suited. I think the resistance value is 100k ohms. I'm currently looking at some options by Bourns, but it's hard to know which is the right one. Any thoughts/links to appropriate replacements would be welcome, thanks!

Hard to find any obvious candidates, but look at this.
Good luck.

What you need is a 100kΩ MN taper potentiometer, please post a photo of the actual potentiometer and show the pot diameter, actuator type and length, maybe someone can find you a drop-in replacement.
This is an example:

You could remover it and cover the hole with a logo, brand name on a brass sheet, your name on a shield etc. The money you save can be spent on better volume control.
For example one with remote control. Then the hole of the balance potentiometer can be reused for the IR sensor. The gold lettering can be removed in many cases without damage to the front cover. On Aliexpress quite good affordable relay based volume controls are sold that can do this an elegant way. Way better than potentiometers and relay based input selection as a bonus. The display can be made where now source selection is (these kits use the encoder also for source selection).
Or the semi based MUSES 72323 stuff for only volume control and IR sensor.
Nice challenge! Turns the volume control and possibly source selection to a high quality level with added convenience.
