The SB Audience NERO-15MWN700D looks like a nice 15" mid/woofer with low inductance, smooth extended response and reasonable price. Only downside I see is the qts is listed at .46, if this creeps higher in reality the box size could get a little big. Anyone used it or measured it yet?
It models well in 6 cu ft with response into the high 30's.
Could this be a decent substitute for the AE TD15M and it's long lead times and high price tag? Any other drivers look interesting in this category?

FWIW, etc. and assuming the AEs are still as good as when they came out, then on a par with my 'smooth as a baby's bottom', 'heart attack fast' mid '60s AlNiCo Altec 515B.
Regardless, comparing the SB to the 515B's published response implies leaving a bit too much to be desired for me, but factor in the much lower cost and maybe quite the bargain, relatively thinking.
The PD on the other hand is worth a second look 😉, plus having used some PDs for several very high end HTs and one small commercial cinema that seems a lifetime ago now, well worth the price.

Have you seen any frequency response charts (at a fair resolution) or impedance graphs of the TD15M?
Inductance is comparatively high! Check Celestion FTR15-3070C.
Poor Man's- well that a matter of perspective, other way to look at it would be - Man who doesn't wish to wait for the drivers?
The SB Audience is probably your best bet for a substitute to AE. Charlie Laub ordered a pair recently. I'm looking forward to his opinion.

I recently bought a pair of these, but have not put them into use or measured them. I am also impressed. I posted about the driver on my FB page and got a comment from Scott Hinson. He has used and measured the 10" version of this new series, which uses the same motor. He said that it was one of the lowest distortion pro drivers he has ever measured and seemed very impressed with it.
I agree that the TS parameters are a little strange for a modern pro driver and it would be better in a larger cabinet. Could be used to build an awesome monkey-coffin type speaker and even that high of a Qts can be used in a vented enclosure. Large reflex type systems can really produce some insane bass and be very efficient.
The driver is not expensive at all, and is a fantastic bargain overall. I am very pleased with the build quality as well.

There is the BD-design BD15. Hard to find.
