Placement of R-core transformer?

Hey DIYA'ers🙂

I'm almost finished drawing a stereo preamplifier from scratch, only small adjustments is needed before I'll do some gerber files for a PCB order.

Question: does the orientation of the R-core transformer have significant impact?
Would it be better to rotate it 90°

Attached is a picture of the current progress and layout

Best regards

More important than the orientation would be the possibility to shield the transformer and the rectifiers from the analog circuitry. If you could make some space for a shield between the power supply and the audio part (including the voltage regulators), it would be very worthwhile.

What are some of the specs about this build? This looks to be admirable work. I am not sure that I would come up to this standard even with the proper tools. There is so much work represented here. How much involvement did you have besides the design process? For me, finding a good place to help make a chassis or engrave a faceplate is difficult or out of my price range.
Would like to see photos of the rear panel as well as a front shot of the front panel.

The project has been on my laptop for over a year, it's a massive take to get everything to lineup with the desire to use only one big PCB. Moving parts back and forth in KiCAD, trying to max out the layout, and various protobuilds in between. 4 month ago I started to source the parts I wanted.
The chassis I've also drawn myself, Modushop got the order of the chassis and did the drilling and text. I'm quite pleased.

Got to love the option of building for yourself. Your rules and ideas with no expectation from the market. For me, having 3 inputs works well, but I almost always use 2 outputs and a through-out too. Just what works for my system.
I will say that I have wanted to do a totally balanced system from TT cartridge to power amp output just to say that I did. Headphones as well.
