The first thing I did this afternoon right prior to my question was a - successful - search in the members' list. So I was scratching my head 'bout the info he's no longer a member. Hence, well done, Cal!

What a pity he's no longer active, especially 'cause the number of members who set profound arguments against unsubstantiated snakeoil BS like tube or capacitor rolling, cable sound etc. already appears to be dwindling.

Last month I expressed my concerned about the fact he was not active on this website for quite a few months.
Some time ago I did the same investigation and found him still active on ssguitars.com
JMF is taking a break from this forum, he messaged me on WhatsApp, some members were frankly trying to be overly bickering, and the questions below beginner level.
I have to agree that some of the posters here are asking questions to which the answers seem obvious, and they tend to have names which are like, well, the American habit of using titles like 'Earl' and 'Sir' as first names...though that seems to be dying out, and recently I saw a picture of Tallulah Bankhead on the net, that name no longer seems popular for babies.
And yes, the forum has not seen a silly cable / rolling thread for some time, seems about due now...eye roll.
