WTB Blue Heat Shrink

Wanted to buy
Thanks for looking in your stash. I just placed a big order and botched that one item. Mouser kills me with the heat shrink shipping. They put it in the 4' cardboard tube. I get it...best for the large diameter shrink. Small diameter, just roll it up and put in a small box.

I miss having local stores for this reason.

Yeah I hear you,
I live in a small town in Northern California and there is nothing available close for this kind of stuff. I used to live in the bay area
(San Jose) and was so spoiled. There was a great surplus electronics place in Santa Clara that was awesome. Great stuff for pennies.
Have a good holiday

I was probably there a few times 25-35+ years ago. My uncle lived in San Mateo and worked for Ampex. We would hit all the used HiFi stores in the area and all the surplus electronics stores. I swear, Ampex created a small electronics mecca in the area. Hewlett Packard being a short hop away in Palo Alto helped too.

Back home, I used to ride my bike to a local chain electronics store to get everything I needed. They are still around, but now handle network hardware, cabling and supplies. Probably a smart move on their part.

Happy Holidays to you too!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across folks who are familiar with that place in Santa Clara. I’d not be surprised if we crossed paths back in the day. I’m an old guy now (70) but thoroughly enjoy memories from working in Silicon Valley.
Best

I purchased all my heat shrink at Bezos bookstore. I know some folks are against it because theres a lot of cheap junk out there, but 55ft of quality marine grade for $20-25 will keep me going for years. (You don't have to buy that much). Free shipping, comes on a roll, and shows up in a day or two for me in Seattle. This 3:1 works really well in my humble opinion and comes in various diameter and length options. The "XHF" brand also is very good heavy duty.

I have some I can send, but it'll probably be faster to buy from the link above. PM me if you just want a few inches. I can cover the cost of the stamp if you can wait for snail mail to get it to you 😀
