Tonearm quadstar

You mean internally, or overall? Did you have a specific wire in mind, or is this diy?

When I rewired my RB250 I spiralled all 4 conductors together from cartridge to just a few inches short of the RCA plugs where they branch apart, all within a single screen. I can't say they're star quad though as they're not that tightly bound in order to provide some flexibility. Capacitance is low, and noise is not an issue, but beyond the original wiring which it handily surpasses I have no way of comparing it to other wiring variations.

Well MM cartridges are very high impedance and you really don't want to twist the wires together as that's the maximum capacitance configuration. With MC cartridges which are low impdeance a transmission line like star quad makes more sense to cancel magnetic interference. However you need 4 wires for each channel, so 8 wires in total, coupled with winding the wires tightly together this is a dramatic increase in stiffness of the wires coming out of the tone-arm, leading to unwanted forces on the tonearm.

I will verify but those capacitance increases make a difference in pro audio snakes of many meters. With the wire choice I am chosing the 49 awg as is hale the diameter of a 34 AWG.

As for reducing stiffness. What if there no wind for less than an inch in the tonearm elbow?
