Hi all,
I am a 64 years old HIFI passionate. I enjoy trying to repair kits and now in the CD player area of interest.

Hi all,
Hope someone can help.
I am trying to resuscitate my Micro Seiki CD-M2, it wasn’t working (would not read disks and the tray wasn’t working) and was left in storage for 3 years.
I have now changed all caps throughout, even at the CDM-1 board, and serviced the motor, etc. Now the disk spins, (too fast at times), tray works fine, but no TOC is ever read, so no info from CD (any CDs). I am starting to think it may be the laser, but not sure. I am reading servicing info of a Philips 960 which is basically the same but cannot find details about Laser adjustments or else.
This is my first go at repairing CD players. Could you help with suggestions, hints, info, anything please? I really want to recover the player. Thank you. Salvo
