The big question is; how does it perform mechanically and electrically ? The original B77 was hardly sate-of-art back then.

Wow, that is getting into car price range. I have an A-77 and B-77 and you could get them in the high-speed model (15 ips) and with 2 0r 4 tracks. The reason I got my first one is because it was a 3-motor direct drive with no pullies or belts or rollers. I lived overseas and needed a machine which was independent of the AC line frequency and voltage. I thought that was state of the art.
