Assuming xo parts are approximately 50% of driver's for a 3 way I capped my driver costs at $700.

Total Driver cost: $654.28

Gema kit was on my list too , but I think I will buy for 1000$/pair Klipsch rp-8000II

I'd do a modified version of Curt C and Jim Holtz's Statements.......replacing the mids with the ScanSpeak Discovery 10F. I'd reduce the baffle width by 1.5" and make it modular.....3 pieces. The top woofer would be a sealed high Q box for some midbass slam.

My second choice would be a classic monkey box 3 way.........12" woofer, 8" mid and 1" CD

Used JBL 2206H pair in good condition = 300$ ish estimated.
B&C DE360 1", = 180$
3D printed ATH waveguide = 100-200$ ? (depending on if one has the printer, material choice etc.)
(Alternatively JBL 2408H-1 used, along with JBL waveguide can be had for about the same)

6-700 in drivers, 300$ for XO parts left.

Sealed with subs, or ported to extend the bottom end.
