Hi all, sorry if wrong subforum... I have a DriveRack 260 and want to connect it to my PC but didn't get the cables, so am looking to buy one.
As I read, it seems that a "null modem" cable is what I want, and then a DB9 to USB adapter? Curious if anyone else has connected RS232 to a modern PC and knows what I should be looking for. Thanks in advance.

I had to make the null modem cable myself, I wanted a 100 footer. I hope you can still get a db9 to USB adapter…. i bought mine a long time ago. Old school serial and parallel cables were drying up back then, and I recently had trouble getting discontinued video cable types.
It is a normal serial port adapter, you need to connect a null modem cable.
You are right and need the two.
Or a nullmodem adapter with a normal serial cable.

I have DriveRack 260 connected to my laptop. I used the cable that was included and the UGREEN CR104 USB to DB9 RS-232 adapter. Everything works great.
