6L6WGB Types - Tonal Difference?

Do you have an amplifier that uses 6L6WGB tubes?
Do you listen at low and moderate volume; and do you not listen near clipping?
How many dB of Global Negative Feedback does your amplifier have?

Depending on your answers to the 3 questions above . . .
You may, or may not, hear any differences between reasonably working 6L6WGB tubes.

If the answer to (2) really is “none of the above”, that implies running it hard with a lot of clipping. Then the tube that has the most emission and the strongest screen grid (that won’t melt) is going to be the one that sounds the “best”. That could very well be more batch dependent than brand dependent.

Tibetan,

Agree, or Disagree, that is OK with me.

You were very specific about the tube type, and only 3 manufacturers.
Good!

The different amplifiers they could be used in, by the many thread readers . . .
is not specific.

The various amplifiers with those tubes in them, drives any number of loudspeakers.
Loudspeakers are different, some are easy to drive, and others are almost impossible to drive.
That is not specific.

A partly specific, partly general question, often gets an answer that is nothing more than a generalization.
Just my opinions.
