This is not a DIY topic, but is this review reliable? I would like to hear everyone's opinions. I can't decide between CD60 and CD5.
Arcam CD5 is using an SMPSU and OP-Amp.(Above)
How about CD6 (Bottom)? LPS?
CD6 I/V circuit is using Discreet.

If those CD players have XLR outputs that will be one way to mitigate the switching noise, so long as pin1 is handled correctly (direct to chassis not to PCB) on your preamp's XLR input.
The bottom two pictures reveal something strange - both an EI mains trafo (left of the transport mechanism) and a switcher (top left). Or is that small trafo a standby one not a ferrite switching trafo? I'm not seeing the customary CM choke if it were an SMPSU so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say its a LPS.
What's the DAC chip in the CD60?

That seems like a simple standby LPS on Marantz... so no SMPS inside. The transformer seems like a 50/60Hz version most definitely... A look at the schematics is required to be 100% certain.
No XLR on either....
However, the Marantz is already a balanced design. A DIY-er could tap into those caps and feed the balanced signals to XLRs... most likely.
Not sure what DAC ICs are used... The Marantz one looks like AKM... 4490 maybe...
