amplifier CAYIN 860

You could try sending an e-mail to: info@cayin.cn

Something like this... maybe...

Dear Spark Audio,

I purchased this amplifier in {insert year} and have been extremely happy with the sound. However, just recently the amp is starting to sound distorted on one channel. I would really like to get it working again and was wondering if you could please e-mail me the circuit diagram?

{I have attached the receipt as a proof of purchase.}

I am also happy to sign the non-disclosure agreement to ensure You I will not share the circuit diagram with anyone else. I studied electronics (long ago) and would like to attempt to repair it myself.

Thank you,
Worm regards,
{Your name}

Good luck!

hi, I took pictures and I'm sending them, but the question is about the 6CG7 lamp, In the 2012 manual there is a 6CG7 lamp instead of 6N6, that's the question.

I was repairing and modifying a 265Ai amp... different amps.

It looks like a Chinese 6N6T... is it a 9-pin tube? Take a photo of the valve base.... and confirm that the valve part number is indeed 6N6T.

See here for more info:

Also, I attached the 6N6 spec sheet... but your valve might be a nine-pin one... 6N6/6H6 are interchangeable... but there are many variations.

I believe Chinese 6N6 is the same type as Russian 6N6P.
This twin triode has the same pinout as a 6CG7/6FQ7, so you could drop it in and the circuit would probably work. But there are significant differences between 6CG7 and 6N6(P).

US 6N6 is a completely different thing, and is not compatible at all.

Did you purchase this amp new? Or did you buy it used, from a previous owner? It could be that the circuit originally specified a 6CG7, but someone put a 6N6 in its place. Like I said, it would probably work. But the circuit might work better with a 6CG7.

Incidentally, 6CG7/6FQ7 is electrically identical to USA 6SN7, Russian 6N8S, Chinese 6N8.
But 6SN7, etc. is an octal based tube, so is not physically compatible at all. Only the same electrically.

Hi Vladimir, I have not received the manual.
@rongon basically said it all. The tube is a Chinese 6N6, a copy of a Russian 6Н6П. Both 6CG7 and 6N6 are double triodes, similar mu, but the 6N6 is a much more powerful tube. One can replace the other in some cases, but it's impossible to say for sure without looking at the schematic.
The important question is: Is the amplifier working?
