Hello from a senior living in Canada. Have plenty of free time so am thinking about building my first ever amp project... the ACA.

It's a good start to learn from and get results. If you wander into this project, get some good quality tools to help make the best connections, stripping wires, etc. I can't believe how long I waited to get the right stuff, fumbling with what I had for so long.

Good call. These kits will save you so much grief. I will only suggest that if you’re uncertain about your soldering skills, buy a couple of small projects electronics and brush up. Then go to the step-by-step build guides and proceed at your own pace. Trust me, haste makes waste. Have fun.

Greetings, @Watts-Up! I've recently finished my second ACA and just love them. It's a fun kit to build and sounds amazing, especially for the price. As mentioned, though, you need very efficient speakers. I look forward to hearing about your experience when you have it together.

Greetings everyone! My current speakers are a pair of Magnepan LRS+ and the ancient PSB Gold i(s). I know both are not good companions for the ACA project. I'll look for some other speakers if I'm to go ahead. But prior to that, I've read a post by Skylar88 mentioning the prerequisite of having a preamp that has enough gain. I'll post the question to the appropriate thread regarding my current Adcom GFP-750 preamp.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
