Fired from the shoulder? Surface-to-air?
Hey man, explain the last segment? Why is the entry not 68cm2, same as the exit of the previous?

Yeah Randy, some of that junk at the exit is kind of irrelevant. Might even create a divergence in the sim verses measured at 8-900 hz or someplace related to that 10 cm?
the bump around 50 hz (measured) is created by the higher qts and Fs then claimed by dayton (factory ts parameters n simmed response))

Or the mic's random placement at the vent exit instead of a position that would show the cabinet's combined response.the bump around 50 hz (measured) is created by the higher qts and Fs then claimed by dayton

@weltersys I notice if I manipulate ‘Le’ (or Qes) in many sims I can tweak it to look more like the measured responses lumpy bandwidth region.
Booger, educate me about this if you don’t mind. Them tall sharp impedance spike pair and the lil one higher up
Is this preferable or shorter pair of nubs without the additional spikes? Does tall spikes mean boomy?

The pair are (above and below) the fundametal resonance and since its tuned a ways below the drivers Fs the lower peak is lower In height
the peak at ~144 hz is about 1/3 the length of the resonator and is the second resonace.
that goofy hump at about 50 hz sucks and stirs up some panel vibes if driven really hard and distortion junk but it’s not part of the design, it’s weird🤷♂️

That’s kinda close to the drivers Fs when cold and that second impedance peak …. Bad combo Maybe….?
I did sims with that driver a while back and found it didn’t like too small either
I’ll measure a 7” that I have here and pass on the t/s to you. Its less potent than the Epique but it is the only other 7” around to directly compare for that 50Hz hump
Hey man can I ask about the amp? Some subwoofer plates and 2.1 boards may have a built in 50Hz boost. I know mine does and that the unity detent still feels like there is some boost. I think the embedded DSP on the amp has a locked always on loudness curve as at night the boost knob needs to be dropped below the unity detent when lowering volume to late night levels otherwise the bass stays fairly loud
Might pay to check this if you are using anything labelled subwoofer amp

I’m just using the dats and rew through the laptop, no ‘amp’ for these measurementsI did sims with that driver a while back and found it didn’t like too small either

Eagerly awaiting for you to pull your finger out and put an amp and a mic on that sonic bazooka. I don’t think small signal is enough to make it shine
Pretty driver!
What made you go positive flare in the last segment?
Technically, the last segment should have been divided into 2 segments.

Shoot, the 1st segment needs to be split into to 2 segments too!
That enclosure needs a 5th segment in HR.

I stopped caring about those tiny details in explanations to horn response that didn’t ever contribute to a more precise line up of the measured resonances and dips and just add to the the potential OCD trap that I prefer to avoid so I dont turn into a skitzophrenic number pattern weirdo again 😝
I like to visually SEE what I am going to build in HR.
That's why I fill out Vtc & Atc.

I like accurately portraying the offset driver location or the offset resonators in a folded bos@ wave cannon to try and get this dialed in precisely to reality(possibly why I measure right at the vent instead of way out in smoother response shapes where this is all just a blur and I can’t see anything of that detail??? ) .. but these are 60 cm or longer 1/4 wavelengths/harmonics inside the resonator, not some random tidbits that don’t actually show up in the measurement (??)

i moved back and used an amp.....the details get diluted and i cant see what i wanted to investigate(in my ignorance)
any further or out in the yard and I’m bouncing off an rv in the driveway or the side of the neighbors house …. 😢

Where did you move back from 🙂 ?i moved back and used an amp.....the details get diluted and i cant see what i wanted to investigate
Hard to see any detail with a (missing) 300dB scale, and details can be obscured due to proximity of the enclosure and mic to other objects.
What did you want to investigate?
