I have used the same RCA cables forever and never cared much about cables before until now.
I needed to rearrange the system and I was in need of new interconnects and so I bought some Mogami cable (maybe the gold version?) and some nice Neutrik plugs and made a few cables. The difference is very obvious, the HF/MF detail is much better. I wonder what people are using around here as interconnects. Particularly in the home made range. Has anyone compared the Mogami cable with other brands?

Oh, cables. I do not listen to music to find so called "imperfections". I listen to music to relax and enjoy.
Else go to the desserts and hear the wonderfull undistorted pure sound of it. I whas there and it's very relaxing.

It's a bit late to ask for info about stuf you bought but do not now if it feeds your tricked needs.

It's a bit late to ask for info about stuf you bought but do not now if it feeds your tricked needs.
If you noticed an audible difference by changing cables, this may have one of two causes:
1. your old cable was defective, made no perfect contact or had an unusual filter characteristic (capacitor).
2. your new cable has a filter characteristic you prefer over the old one or fixed a fault the old one had.
Now you know. Happy listening.
The bad news is, if your cable has a 100% sound electrical connection, you will not be able to improve the sound of your installation with any other cable, independent of it's price, construction or name. You can not get more than 100% perfect connection between two pieces of audio gear. Anything changing sound is no wire, but a filter.
As the cable hype is generating incredible profit for those in the sales chain, the constant production of mind bending, stupid, pseudo science sales lies is never going to stop. A dealer selling an amplifier to you may do 20-30% on it, if he sells you an expensive cable he will get up to 80% of your money into his pocket.
