HIFI stereo amp

good morning to everyone.
I have a Panasonic CD STEREO SYSTEM SA-AK57, the circuit board in the front of the hifi with the display, power on/of and all the other buttons has cracked, the AC IN light comes on but the hifi does not power on. my question now, is it possible for me to take the amp of the hifi and convert it to be used as a sound system for my pc, Im not bothered about the cd or cassete player, I only want to use it as a pc sound system without spending money. Im not that clued up with electronics, if it is possible to convert it please advise how should do it step by step. Thank you

Welcome to diyAudio George 🙂

I have moved your thread here but my first thoughts are that if you are unfamiliar with electronics then there will be to many hurdles to overcome. If you just want a dedicated small power amp and volume control then there have to be better options available whether ready made (as a module) or even a S/H amp.

If the panel is cracked it may be possible to repair it depending how bad the damage is. Bridging cracked print with single strand wire is a commonly done even if there are several breaks.

I don't think so, and just as @Mooly already told you, I would also recommend something ready made.

However, please note that your PC would almost certainly have a sound card integrated into its motherboard and therefore you would only need a couple of active loudspeakers, if you want.
Or even a soundbar, if more comfortable with it, which, without spending too much, it will also sound good.

I've a more expensive one on my second PC that sounds great to me. 😉
