Amber 4400A

I have just acquired a Amber Electro Design 4400A test set. I have found the maintenance manual on diyaudio but does anybody have a link to the user manual

That is a rare bird, and I have never seen a user manual for it. The 3501 (I have 3), 3501A & 5500 are fairly common, but I have only ever seen one 4400A.
I am from the area where these were built, and the building where Amber was located still exists 🙂

I had a 4400A back in the day! I loved that thing. I'm not sure exactly what industries it was targeted for, but we used it for analog tape decks.

And I still think to this day it had one of the coolest front panels ever! All those popping-eye pushbuttons 👍

I used the 4400a for testing Studer A80 reel to reel tape machines We had hundreds we were testing for the BBC in London
