In Germany, 2024 - the land of Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc.? I find it hard to believe, there's something wrong here. But not all is lost - there's a worldwide shortage of roller skates...

There has not changed that much, the Germans still love Volkswagen aka VW.
Best sold new cars in Germany by model.

Note: Skoda is Czech Republic styled version of Volkswagen.
Seat is Spanish styled version of Volkswagen.
ID.3 is Electro Car

So far, so good. One thing is abundantly clear, however - China is not Spain, much less Czechia. Let's be clear. Some trends are much more serious than it seems. I hope you understand me. I think I'll stop here - forum rules...

All that I can say to Germany is...What are you doing to yourselves with those cheap cars? buying high priced goods made by people who do not enjoy the same standard of living as you do will not end well. I lived it, middle class economy decimated by cheap manufacturing. Enjoy the cheap trinkets while you can because less and less of you will be able to afford them in the end.

The cars sold today in Germany, will be exported to Bulgaria in 20 years. So you better pay attention.
Me and my wife made a tour for a week to northen Greece.
There, we met cars with Bulgarian, Serbian, Turkish and Greek number plates.
(I would say say 80% BU, 10% SE, 5%TR, 3% GR, and some D and FR)
The BU plates were on the latest and most expensive models, all of european makers.
The oldest and cheapest wore GR plates (ours too. Skoda Fabia fabr. 2008)

Well jump over the border for an unforgettable adventure in the Rhodope mountains. Having visit there during my latest road trip to Bulgaria was an unforgettable experience. I love road trips and have visit all of Europe, except Ireland and Iceland, that way. My navigation had poor coverage in the Rhodope mountains, at some point during this 6000 km Bulgarian adventure, it sends me up a mountain road, mainly consisting of potholes. Average speed I could make was max 25 km/h. Looking back it probable was on military road from the cold war era, but I did not know that when turning on it. The further I drove the road the narrower it became and the higher the canyons. After some four hours driving (100 km) the road was blocked. A big rock, more then a meter diameter, was blocking our way, impossible to pass, to heavy to move. I had to drive many km backwards or turn the car. Both being life treating. I decided to get it over and try to turn the car around. At this point my wife was in complete panic and lost all control, I had to send her away. Found a spot on the road that was just a little bit wider, I made the attempt. Had to stitch like 7 times while the front of the car, even part of a wheel, was hanging over the cliff. Repeatedly stepping out of the car to see how much ground was left.

Below a few traffic related pictures from the trip. We actually took a ride in that yellow cab, it drove us to other side of town for a few euro. The white Audi broke down at a traffic light, the guy did not bother to get out of the car, he just sends out the woman to push.

Wonderful country, I love it.
