The tweeter resonance is not a direct indicator of it's usable range, it's more a rule of thumb. The manufacturer suggests using it above 2k5, which is not a whole multiple of 440.
Regardless, you can do what you want if you're prepared for the consequences. There should be no problem crossing it at a lower frequency, or first order, with reduced output potential.

Wont have much of a issue crossing to a 5"
Then again after paying 140 dollars for a tweet
Seems like even a 2nd order is non issue
since the coil wont be more than 15 bucks
for much better assurance.
then another cap makes it 3rd order
which is more of a default strategy
if your planning to cross over low.
26mm voice coil is basically ( 1" ) driver
7 to 7.5 cm2 for Sd
Great thing about 5" or smaller mid
Your looking for potential of using smaller tweet ( 3/4")
for even better off axis.
since Sd dips down to 4 cm2
These large chamber Illuminator series
are rather amazing drivers for sure.
Unfortunately feel 1st order be rather
waste of a good driver
But the large chambers helps Fs yes.
Its more if the surround can handle lower frequency content.
So the large chambers can be almost redundant.
If its still a basic 2.5 K tweeter.
As mentioned, agree a listening test is final answer.

I really like the response curve of the 3004…..it’s a little hot on axis up past 5khz but at +/-20 degrees, it’s basically flat so no toe in required. With a 5” mid crossed high, power response should be fairly consistent.

So be great and easy to get tight mounting to the woofer.

I guessed that it was rather known ( =shared) that ferrofluid tweeters should be used in this case.
Ok, let me repeat: it is general rule to use tweeters with ferrofluid when using "just a cap".
Why? Ferrofluid stops 'extra motion' at resonance.
